Luke Ivan Zagurski, Intern

THERAPY

I am Luke, he/him, pursuing my master’s degree in clinical mental health from Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia. I received my bachelor’s degree in counseling and human services at Stevenson University in 2022, and currently I am completing my Internship at Grey Matter Counseling.

When I met my high school therapist during my freshman year I found my desire to counsel others. Through finding a powerful therapeutic relationship of my own, I was able to find coping skills to add to my personal toolbox that has better equipped me to work through everyday challenges I face. I hope to provide  that same toolbox and build an empathetic and compassionate therapeutic environment for all my clients. I look to work with Adults, Young Adults, Adolescents.

I can provide insight on supporting those making career changes or making leadership changes. Additional to my clinical studies, I am a certified life coach. I can offer client support, accountability, and adaptability. While pursuing my career in clinical mental health I have successfully ran my own creative media company. This has helped me understand the importance of work life balance when pursuing a career or even more than one.

After Graduation, I plan to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCPC) and to continue running my creative media company. I am a counselor-in-training in a CACREP-accredited master’s program, committed to strong ethical and professional practice through my involvement in the American Counseling Association and the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society.

My approach to therapy is self-empowerment through acceptance and commitment by creating a safe environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences. It is important to have someone that can help you navigate all types of relationships and together we can find the tools necessary for you to regain a healthy relationship with yourself and those around you.

Please feel free to reach out at any time to set up an intake session. This initial session allows us to get to know one another and determine whether we are a good fit. I always encourage people not to settle for any therapeutic relationship it should feel safe, supportive, and make you eager to return as you continue to grow.
